Stellantis officials urged to add new models to Mirafiori plant

Piedmont Regional President Alberto Cirio and Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo have met with Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa to request the introduction of a second vehicle model at the Mirafiori plant. The goal is to complement the Fiat 500, boost production levels, and secure local employment.

Regional and municipal leaders emphasized that while production is expected to grow compared to 2025, current volumes are insufficient to guarantee full employment. They are calling for increased investment continuity, higher production volumes, and a more diverse range of vehicles assembled at the site.

Labor unions, including Uilm, have expressed support for these institutional efforts, noting that the plant is currently facing production halts and the return of redundancy funds (cassa integrazione). The regional government also intends to work with the national government to seek European Union measures to protect Made in Europe manufacturing.
