Stellantis recalls 955,000 vehicles over camera software defect

Stellantis is recalling approximately 955,000 vehicles across its Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands due to a software defect in the infotainment system. The issue can prevent rear-view camera images from displaying correctly when a vehicle is in reverse.

The recall affects 2026 and 2027 model-year vehicles, including the Chrysler Pacifica, Voyager, Dodge Charger, Jeep Cherokee, Compass, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, and Wrangler, as well as various Ram models. Geographically, the recall includes 848,000 vehicles in the United States, 83,000 in Canada, 8,000 in Mexico, and roughly 15,000 in other international markets.

Stellantis plans to address the problem through over-the-air software updates, which is expected to keep direct costs relatively low. The company stated it has no reports of accidents or injuries related to this specific defect. This follows a similar recall in June 2024, where 1.16 million North American vehicles were recalled for comparable camera display issues.
