Stellantis recalls over 1.5 million Ram 1500 trucks worldwide
Stellantis announced a global recall of more than 1.5 million Ram 1500 pickup trucks due to a seat‑belt buckle anchor that may not be properly attached to the vehicle body, creating a risk of injury. The recall covers 2019‑2026 model years, affecting 1.27 million vehicles in the United States, 156,000 in Canada, 15,000 in Mexico and about 75,000 elsewhere. Stellantis has reported one possible injury linked to the defect but no fatalities.
In Chile, Stellantis Chile S.A. filed a safety alert with the consumer‑protection agency SERNAC for 2024‑2026 Ram 1500 trucks equipped with a trailer‑module defect that can cause loss of trailer lighting and brake function. The alert covers 598 units sold in Chile; no accidents have been reported. Owners are instructed to have the trailer module replaced at no cost. Dealers in all affected markets will inspect the seat‑belt anchors and, where needed, secure them to the vehicle structure.
The recall aims to prevent potential crashes caused by malfunctioning seat belts or trailer systems, and owners will be contacted to schedule free repairs.
