Stellantis reintroduces 160 hp diesel engine for camper conversions
Stellantis has reintroduced a 2.2-liter MultiJet third-generation turbodiesel engine specifically for the caravanning and camper conversion market. The 118 kW (160 hp) engine is designed to fill the power gap between the existing 140 hp and 180 hp options.
Available for models including the Fiat Ducato, Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, and Opel Movano, the engine meets Euro-VI emission standards. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission producing 380 Nm of torque or an eight-speed automatic transmission delivering 400 Nm.
The new engine was highlighted at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. While the 160 hp variant is currently offered exclusively for camping conversions, the standard 140 hp and 180 hp versions remain available for traditional commercial van use.
