Stellantis to produce new HEMI TRX engine in Coahuila

Stellantis has announced that the production of the new 6.2-liter HEMI TRX engine will take place exclusively at its Planta Motores Norte facility in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. This facility will be the company’s only plant globally responsible for manufacturing this high-performance engine.

The engine is designed to power the new Ram 1500 TRX. While the engine will be manufactured in Ramos Arizpe, the Ram 1500 TRX vehicles will be assembled at the Stellantis complex in Derramadero, south of Saltillo. This arrangement concentrates two key stages of the international automotive program within the southeastern region of Coahuila.

Company officials noted that this assignment recognizes the technical expertise and specialized skills of the local workforce in areas such as assembly, training, and quality management. The program is intended to strengthen Stellantis’s North American supply chain and meet the demand for high-performance pickups.
