Stellantis unveils autonomous Box-on-Wheels delivery prototype

Stellantis Pro One, the commercial vehicle division of Stellantis, has unveiled the ‘Box-on-Wheels’ (BOW), an autonomous, fully electric prototype designed for urban last-mile deliveries. Developed in partnership with Chinese robotics firm UQI Robotics, the concept was showcased at the IAA Transportation 2026 trade fair in Hannover, Germany.

The BOW functions as a mobile logistics robot, integrating autonomous driving, electrification, and connectivity. It features a large cargo area accessible via two oversized electric doors. To facilitate deliveries without a driver, recipients can access goods by entering a code into an external screen located near the front right door.

Beyond urban streets, the manufacturer envisions the technology being used in controlled environments such as airports, hospitals, and logistics centers. The technological foundation is provided by UQI Robotics, a joint venture between UBTECH and Miracle Automation. This collaboration aims to adapt Chinese expertise in autonomous commercial vehicles for the European market as part of Stellantis’ FaSTLane 2030 strategy.
