Stellantis unveils low‑cost Smart Compact Van built in Spain

Stellantis announced a new range of compact commercial vehicles, the Smart Compact Van, to be produced at its Vigo plant in Spain. The vans will be marketed under the Citroën, Fiat, Opel and Peugeot brands and will be offered with diesel, gasoline, micro‑hybrid and fully electric powertrains, the latter providing up to 270 km of range.

The vehicles are designed for professional drivers, featuring a load capacity of 750–1,000 kg, cargo volume of 3.3–4.4 m³ and a modular “Flexiseat” that can be folded to add 0.5 m³ of space. Additional features include a removable passenger seat that becomes a work table, a 220 V outlet and a high‑capacity under‑seat drawer. Orders are set to open in September with a market launch planned for November 2026, and Stellantis says the price will be lower than comparable models in the segment.
