Stellantis launches new Smart Compact Van with modular Flexiseat
Stellantis Pro One unveiled the Smart Compact Van, expanding its best‑selling Compact Van family across four brands – Citroën Berlingo Van First, Fiat Professional Doblò EasyPRO, Opel Combo Start and Peugeot Partner Active. The model keeps the same exterior dimensions and payload (750 kg‑1 ton) but introduces a suite of interior innovations, chief among them the Flexiseat, a modular passenger seat that folds to add up to 0.5 m³ of cargo space. Optional accessories such as the Modutable work‑table, Moduconsole, Dashbox, DriveDrawer and Moduwork further turn the cabin into a mobile office.
The van follows a multi‑energy strategy: a 100 % electric version offers up to 270 km range, three internal‑combustion engines (two diesels, one petrol) are available with manual gearboxes, and a mild‑hybrid model is slated for next year. Pricing is set below the current range, with reductions of €1,000‑€4,000 aimed at professionals, small businesses and fleet operators. Stellantis expects the offering to strengthen its 48.2 % market share in Europe’s compact van segment.
The launch was presented at a Europe‑wide digital event attended by over 300 journalists. Eric Laforge, Global Senior Vice President of Stellantis Pro One, said, “Being a leader implies a great responsibility. Listening to our customers drove us to develop a rational, comfortable and modular vehicle that delivers a true unique selling proposition.” Deliveries are scheduled for September 2026 with the first customer vehicles arriving in November 2026.
