Stellantis utilizes AI and Factory Booster initiative to optimize manufacturing
Stellantis is leveraging artificial intelligence and its Factory Booster initiative to enhance industrial performance and reduce manufacturing costs across its global production network. During the eleventh edition of Factory Booster Day held in Auburn Hills, Michigan, the automaker engaged with over 80 suppliers and startups to address approximately 600 operational challenges reported by 63 of its production sites.
A key example of this technological integration is currently active at the Sterling plant in Michigan, where an AI system monitors the movement of metal blanks during the stamping process in real time. This system detects anomalies to improve process control and limit defects, with reported annual savings nearly four times the initial investment. Stellantis aims to scale such profitable technologies across its various facilities to improve quality, reduce energy consumption, and lower overall production costs.
