Curve Finance launches StableSwap on Stellar mainnet
Curve Finance has officially launched its StableSwap exchange on the Stellar mainnet, marking the protocol’s first native deployment outside of the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) ecosystem. Developed in collaboration with the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), the deployment required a complete rewrite of the StableSwap mechanism using Stellar’s smart contract platform, Soroban, as existing Vyper contracts could not be directly ported.
The launch enables users to permissionlessly create liquidity pools, browse existing pools, swap assets, and provide liquidity. StableSwap is specifically designed to facilitate low-slippage trading for assets with correlated prices, such as stablecoins pegged to the same currency or wrapped Bitcoin.
Following the StableSwap release, Curve plans to introduce FXSwap to the network once audits are complete. FXSwap is intended to provide infrastructure for cross-currency asset trading by concentrating liquidity around current market prices rather than fixed pegs. This integration aims to support institutional demand for stablecoin and tokenized asset trading on the Stellar network.
