Stellar Network processes record 14.16 million daily transactions

The Stellar network experienced a significant surge in activity on October 23, processing a record 14.16 million transactions. According to data from on-chain analytics platform Chainspect, the network maintained an average transaction speed of 163.9 transactions per second (TPS) during this period.

High demand continued into October 24, with transaction capacity reaching peaks of 224.6 TPS at certain intervals. Despite the increased load, Stellar maintained a stable cost structure, with average transaction fees remaining at $0.00012. This stability contrasts with many other major blockchains that often experience congestion and rising fees during periods of high traffic.

The uptick in activity is attributed to recent technical upgrades, including the introduction of Protocol 28 (the Adapter upgrade) in September, which allowed developers to restructure mechanisms to increase capacity. Further infrastructure improvements included the integration of Chainlink price data feeds on October 14. The network is currently preparing for the upcoming Protocol 30, known as the Bell upgrade.
