Stellar network surges as institutional tokenisation projects launch
The Stellar Development Foundation highlighted growing institutional interest in its tokenisation platform, noting two recent moves: the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has partnered with Stellar to issue tokenised assets, and MoneyGram is expanding its use of Stellar’s network for stable‑coin payments. Both developments will be discussed at the “Future of Finance is Institutional” event in Dubai’s DMCC Crypto Centre.
During the same period, Stellar’s native token XLM jumped more than 45% between June 15‑18, out‑performing other large‑cap cryptocurrencies. The rally was driven by the launch of tokenised U.S. Treasury securities and AAA‑rated collateralised loan obligations on the Sushi DEX, bringing the on‑chain real‑world asset value to about $2.2 billion. Institutional backers cite ties to DTCC, MoneyGram, Visa, PayPal and Franklin Templeton as evidence of genuine utility beyond speculative trading.
Analysts see the price gains as a reflection of growing demand for on‑chain tokenised assets, while noting that broader market conditions remain challenging for altcoins.
