Stellenbosch FC re-signs midfielder Darrel Matsheke

Stellenbosch FC has confirmed the return of midfielder Darrel Matsheke for a second spell with the club. Matsheke previously played for the Winelands-based side during the 2023-24 season, making 12 appearances across all competitions.

During his initial stint, Matsheke played a significant role in the club winning the Carling Knockout trophy. He notably scored the winning penalty in the shootout against TS Galaxy to secure the silverware. His first tenure at the club ended in March 2024 following a contract termination due to an internal code of conduct transgression.

Since leaving Stellenbosch, Matsheke has played for Pretoria Callies, Kruger United, and Marumo Gallants. He expressed surprise at his return but stated he is delighted to have another opportunity to contribute to the team during their Betway Premiership campaign.
