STEM and innovation initiatives launched by universities in Mexico and Argentina

Educational institutions in Mexico and Argentina are launching initiatives to promote STEM and innovation. The University of Sonora (Unison) expects over 20,000 children to participate in its 2026 Scientific Childhood Rally and STEM Professions Expo. Scheduled for October 3, the event will take place across the Hermosillo, Cajeme, Navojoa, and Caborca campuses, featuring approximately 500 exhibition booths and various scientific demonstrations in fields such as physics, medicine, and engineering.

In Argentina, the National University of Moreno (UNM) has invited participants to the 2026 Latin American Innovation Rally. This international competition challenges university students to solve real-world social, environmental, and technological problems through 28 hours of continuous teamwork. The event emphasizes diversity in STEM by requiring mixed-gender teams and participation from various academic backgrounds.
