Steph Kyriacou seeks turnaround at British Open

Australian golfer Steph Kyriacou, 25, is among nine Australians playing in this week’s $US14.4 million women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes. The event is the fifth and final major of the 2024 season.

Kyriacou entered the tournament after a difficult stretch that saw her miss cuts in eight of nine recent LPGA starts and struggle with a driving‑yips problem that produced a quadruple‑nine at Kooyonga. Following a month of rest and mental reset, she says her game and confidence feel better and she is ready to tackle the “demanding off‑the‑tee” links layout.

She previously finished runner‑up at the 2024 Evian Championship and has recorded two top‑10 finishes at the British Open (tied‑7th in 2020 and tied‑8th in 2023). Kyriacou hopes the familiar links conditions will help her deliver another strong performance.
