Stephany Abasali raises funds for Venezuela earthquake victims at World Cup final

Miss Venezuela Universe 2024, Stephany Abasali, attended the FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina on 19 July 2024 at New York’s MetLife Stadium. She wore a T‑shirt she designed that displayed a QR code linking directly to Caritas Venezuela, inviting spectators to donate to those displaced by the twin earthquakes that struck northern Venezuela on 24 June.

Abasali said the goal was to give international visibility to Venezuela’s reconstruction needs. She had previously declined a formal invitation to watch the match as a spectator, choosing instead to use the global platform to promote aid. Prior to the event she had been delivering food, water and medical supplies in shelters such as La Guaira.

The QR‑code initiative allows contributions to flow straight to the humanitarian organization, supporting victims of the seismic disaster.
