Stephen A. Smith warns Hasan Piker could be a Democratic liability

ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith has warned that the political influence of far-left streamer Hasan Piker could serve as a liability for the Democratic Party during general elections. Speaking to Politico host Dasha Burns, Smith suggested that Piker’s footprint might ‘contaminate’ the electorate on the left and provide Republicans with political ammunition.

The Republican National Committee (RNC) has utilized Piker’s associations to criticize Democratic candidates. RNC national press secretary Natalie Baldassarre previously characterized Michigan Democratic Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed as a ‘terrorist sympathizer’ due to his campaigning with the streamer.

The debate has surfaced in a significant Michigan Senate race, where Republican nominee Mike Rogers leads El-Sayed 51% to 47% according to a Fox News poll. Data indicates that while El-Sayed maintains 98% support among Democratic Socialists of America supporters, his support decreases to 69% among non-DSA Democrats.
