Stephen Curry commits to finishing NBA career with Warriors
Stephen Curry has expressed his intention to finish his NBA career with the Golden State Warriors, despite entering the final year of his current contract. The 38-year-old guard is now eligible to sign a maximum two-year extension worth up to $136.7 million, a move that would keep him with the franchise through the 2028-29 season.
Curry stated that while he is certain about his long-term commitment to the organization, he does not want contract negotiations to become a distraction from the team's upcoming season preparations. He noted that the deal will be finalized at the ‘right time.’
The Warriors' management, including General Manager Mike Dunleavy and owner Joe Lacob, has indicated a strong desire to resolve Curry's future before the next season begins. This comes as the team looks to rebuild its competitiveness following a season that saw them fall short of the playoffs.
