Stephen Curry to debut in Monty Python’s Spamalot in Melbourne

The musical Monty Python’s Spamalot is set to open at Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre this September. The production marks the musical theatre debut of Australian actor Stephen Curry, who will play the role of King Arthur.

Joining Curry is vocalist Jaz Flowers as the Lady of the Lake and Jamie Rolton as Patsy. The ensemble includes Nick White, Gareth Isaac, Jesse Vasiliadas, Noah Skape, and Ethan Jones. The show, which won three Tony Awards following its Broadway debut, features a score by John Du Prez and lyrics by Eric Idle.

Curry, who has over 80 film and television credits, discussed his transition to musical theatre and his admiration for the late Tim Curry, the actor who originally originated the role of King Arthur.
