Stephen Eustáquio joins Swansea City from FC Porto
Swansea City has completed the signing of Canadian international midfielder Stephen Eustáquio from FC Porto. The 29-year-old joins the English Championship side on a two-year contract, which includes an option for a third year.
The transfer is valued at an initial fee of approximately €4 million, with performance-related add-ons that could increase the total by up to €1.65 million. As part of the agreement, FC Porto has secured a 10% sell-on clause. Swansea will also be responsible for solidarity mechanism payments.
Eustáquio brings significant experience to the midfield, having earned 61 senior caps for Canada and captaining the national team during the 2026 World Cup. During his tenure at Porto, he made 157 appearances and won multiple domestic titles, including two championships and three Supertaças. He previously spent time on loan at LAFC in Major League Soccer.
Eustáquio noted that the opportunity to play under head coach Vítor Matos was a decisive factor in his move. He has been assigned the number 46 shirt and is expected to be available for Swansea’s upcoming fixture against Derby County.
