Collegiate athletics see ranking shifts and conference transitions

Various collegiate athletic programs have achieved recent milestones in football and volleyball.

In football, Stephen F. Austin has risen to No. 6 in the AFCA FCS poll and No. 12 in the Stats Perform rankings following a 31-10 victory over Prairie View A&M. The Lumberjacks currently hold a 4-0 record. Colgate University football has also entered the AFCA FCS Top 25 at No. 23, marking their first appearance in the rankings since 2019. Meanwhile, Fort Hays State has returned to the D2Football.com Top 25 at No. 25.

In volleyball, Tarleton State and UT Arlington are beginning their inaugural United Athletic Conference (UAC) play with a scheduled matchup. Tarleton State's Onita Davis was recently named the UAC Freshman of the Week. Additionally, the Texas Woman's University volleyball team is continuing its road swing against Texas A&M-Kingsville.
