Stephen Johnston elected mayor of West Kelowna by acclamation

Stephen Johnston, a current West Kelowna councillor, has been appointed as the next mayor of West Kelowna by acclamation. Johnston was the only candidate to officially declare his candidacy for the position.

He succeeds Gord Milsom, who has served as mayor since 2018 and announced in November 2025 that he would not seek re-election. Johnston, who has served on the council since 2018, previously ran against Milsom in a 2014 mayoral race.

The next West Kelowna council is scheduled to take their Oath of Office and hold their inaugural meeting on November 3, 2026.
