Stephen King stories see continued screen adaptations

Stephen King’s literary works continue to see significant adaptation across film and television, utilizing various horror subgenres including supernatural terror, psychological drama, and science fiction.

One notable recent adaptation is the film ‘The Boogeyman’, which is moving to Netflix. Directed by Rob Savage and starring David Dastmalchian, the film functions as a sequel to King’s original short story rather than a direct adaptation. It expands on the character Lester Billings to create a full-length feature.

Other adaptations highlight the diversity of King’s storytelling, such as ‘Under the Dome’, which focuses on the psychological tension and social breakdown within an isolated community, and ‘11.22.63’, which explores themes of time and consequence.
