Stephen Morris discusses long-standing feud with Peter Hook

Stephen Morris, the drummer for Joy Division and New Order, has provided further details regarding the long-standing feud with former bandmate Peter Hook. The tension dates back nearly two decades, following Hook's departure from New Order in 2007 due to creative and touring disagreements.

Morris described Hook as an “angry person” who does not seem happy and characterized Hook's view of the remaining band members as “awful, awful people.” This rift led to legal disputes after Morris, Bernard Sumner, and Gillian Gilbert continued New Order without Hook in 2011.

With Joy Division and New Order set for joint induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this November, questions remain about a potential reconciliation. Morris expressed doubt regarding a reunion, noting that he is uncertain if Hook will attend or if reconciliation is possible. Morris also mentioned facing undisclosed health issues that may impact his ability to travel to the ceremony.
