Stephen Wengam re-elected General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana

Rev. Stephen Wengam has been re-elected as the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, during the church’s 32nd Biennial General Council Meeting held at Gomoa Fetteh. Wengam secured a significant victory, receiving 3,727 votes, which represented approximately 89 per cent of the 4,159 valid votes cast. He defeated Rev. Dr. Kwame B. Bansah, who received 432 votes.

The election grants Wengam a new four-year term. In addition to his leadership in Ghana, Wengam holds several international and national roles, including serving as Vice Chairman of the Africa Assemblies of God Alliance and as a Cabinet member of the World Assemblies of God Fellowship. Domestically, he serves as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ghana Immigration Service.

Other leadership positions were also filled during the council meeting. Rev. Dr. Kwadwo Bempah was elected Assistant General Superintendent, and Rev. Dr. Albert Anane was elected General Secretary. Rev. Simon Abu Baba retained his position as General Treasurer.
