Sterlin Harjo’s ‘The Lowdown’ returns for second season on FX

Sterlin Harjo returns to FX and Hulu with the second season of ‘The Lowdown,’ an eight-episode mystery series set in Oklahoma. Premiering October 14, the season continues the story of journalist Lee Raybon, played by Ethan Hawke, a self-described ‘truthstorian.’

The new season begins with Raybon receiving a journalism award for his previous investigative work. However, his erratic acceptance speech draws the attention of Ginger Lafferty, a public defender played by Betty Gilpin, who seeks his help regarding a client’s disappearance. The narrative also introduces family drama as Raybon’s father, played by Tommy Lee Jones, arrives in town.

Described as a ‘spaced-out Raymond Chandler’ style Southern noir, the series explores the complexities of Raybon’s character and his pursuit of truth amidst community and family tensions.
