North Macedonian authorities have filed multiple criminal charges involving corruption and financial fraud. In Karposh Municipality, former Mayor Stevcho Jakimovski is charged with ‘negligent work in the service’. Two employees from the urbanism sector, Blagica Blazevska and Simona Serafimovska Gjureska, face charges for ‘abuse of official position and authority’. The allegations involve issuing construction permits for locations where the detailed urban plan (DUP) had been previously annulled by the Constitutional Court, potentially enabling illegal construction valued at over 23.4 million denars.

Separately, the Financial Police Administration has filed charges against five individuals and two companies for money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, and falsifying business books. The investigation centers on a Skopje-based business owner, D.K., who allegedly entered into a fraudulent contract with a Slovenian company for the sale of railway tracks worth over 21 million denars. After receiving an advance payment of approximately 283,310 euros, the goods were never delivered. The funds were then allegedly laundered through fictitious invoices for chicken feet and transfers to other entities to conceal their origin.
