Steve Cropper posthumous album ‘Watching The Tide’ released

Posthumous album ‘Watching The Tide’ has been released by the late legendary guitarist and producer Steve Cropper. Recorded at Nashville’s RCA Studio C, the project serves as the final work from the musician, who passed away in December at the age of 84.

Cropper, a foundational figure in blues, soul, and R&B known for his work at Stax Studios with artists such as Otis Redding and Sam & Dave, collaborated on the album with producer Jon Tiven and singer Roger C. Reale.

The album features the track ‘My Angels Are Calling’, a tribute co-written and performed by Queen guitarist Brian May. The song includes a guitar solo by ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons. May described the track as an attempt to speak from Cropper’s perspective, reflecting on his life and legacy.
