Springboks and All Blacks begin Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series

The Springboks and All Blacks are set to begin the inaugural Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry series, a four-match Test tour starting this Saturday at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. The series marks the first time South Africa has hosted a full New Zealand tour in thirty years.

South African coach Rassie Erasmus has announced a balanced squad for the opening match, featuring a mix of players who recently competed against Argentina and those returning from injury. Due to an injury to Siya Kolisi, Pieter-Steph du Toit will captain the Springboks. The squad includes Damian de Allende, who will earn his 100th Test cap.

New Zealand coach Dave Rennie has named a side that integrates experienced veterans with emerging talent. Key returns include captain Ardie Savea, Cam Roigard, and Will Jordan, while Damian McKenzie returns at fullback following an ankle injury. Both Savea and Codie Taylor will reach their 110th international caps during the tour.

The four-match series will span multiple locations, including Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Baltimore in the United States.
