Steve Harvey alleges NBC executive targeted his career
Comedian Steve Harvey has alleged that a former NBC executive attempted to dismantle his television career following a business dispute. Speaking with his daughter Brandi on the Vault Empowers podcast, Harvey detailed how the conflict began when NBC passed on his series, ‘Celebrity Family Feud’.
Harvey stated that he offered the show to NBC first, but the network declined, leading him to take the series to ABC. After the show became a success on Sunday nights, Harvey claims then-NBC Entertainment Chairman Paul Telegdy offered to match his pay if he moved the show back to NBC. Harvey refused the offer, citing loyalty to ABC for believing in the project.
Harvey claims this refusal led to personal animosity from Telegdy. He noted that the relationship soured significantly, resulting in the cancellation of his daytime talk show and his removal as host of ‘Little Big Shots’ in May 2019. Harvey alleged that Telegdy explicitly stated, ‘I’ll show him. I’ll take his whole TV career.’
