Steve Jobs' relationship with daughter Lisa Brennan-Jobs

The personal history of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs and his eldest daughter, Lisa Brennan-Jobs, reveals a complex and often painful relationship. Born in 1978 to Chrisann Brennan, Lisa was initially denied by Jobs, who reportedly claimed to be sterile in court to avoid paternity responsibilities.

Following a DNA test confirming a 99.4% match, Jobs provided minimal financial support shortly before Apple's IPO. While he named the Apple Lisa computer in 1983, he initially claimed the name was an acronym for ‘Local Integrated System Architecture’ rather than an homage to his daughter. He only admitted the true inspiration for the name years later in the presence of U2 singer Bono.

Lisa Brennan-Jobs has detailed these experiences, including the psychological impact of growing up in the shadow of a tech icon, in her 2018 memoir, ‘Small Fry’.
