Steve Keim linked to alleged NFL investment scam
Former Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim has been linked to Mohamed Coulibaly, an alleged scammer who was recently found dead in a pool. Reports from Pro Football Talk and Barron’s indicate that Keim and Coulibaly were business partners in a company called Motion Ventures.
Coulibaly allegedly orchestrated a scheme involving the sale of shares in dubious online businesses, such as fake Shopify outlets, to various NFL athletes. Some players reportedly lost more than $1 million in total. A pitch deck for Motion Ventures identified Keim as the “chief operation/growth officer,” noting his role in guiding expansion strategy and managing large budgets.
While Coulibaly denied the allegations before his death, several athletes, including former linebacker Tae Crowder, have described how investments failed to yield returns. Keim, who served as the Cardinals' general manager from 2013 to 2022, has not publicly addressed the matter. No charges have been filed in connection with the alleged scam or Coulibaly’s death.
