Steve Komphela involved in alleged altercation in Angola

Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Steve Komphela was reportedly involved in a heated confrontation with Wiliete SC head coach Beto Bianchi following a CAF Champions League preliminary round match in Angola.

Reports indicate that the incident involved allegations of racial abuse and disrespect. According to broadcaster Robert Marawa, Komphela felt targeted by inappropriate comments made in Portuguese. Other reports suggest the altercation included spitting and physical contact, with some claims stating Bianchi required medical attention and Komphela was escorted from the Tundavala National Stadium by police.

Wiliete SC vice-president Vitorins Lunga Vicele stated that the club intends to pursue the matter through CAF and the Angolan justice system. Neither Mamelodi Sundowns nor CAF has officially confirmed the specific details of the confrontation.
