Steve Maclin cites creative frustrations for TNA departure

Professional wrestler Steve Maclin has detailed the creative frustrations that led to his departure from TNA following a five-year tenure. In an interview with TSN, Maclin stated that he felt he was “spinning the wheels” toward the end of his time with the promotion, noting that his pitches to the creative team often went nowhere.

Maclin expressed particular frustration regarding his run as International Champion, noting a lack of direction for the title and international opportunities. He described the experience as “fighting an uphill battle” where his efforts to improve storylines and the overall product were not realized.

Maclin is currently scheduled to face Adam Copeland in the main event of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling: Northern Rising in Toronto. This match marks Copeland’s first appearance at Maple Leaf Gardens.
