Steve McCurry to host photography exhibition in Perugia

American photographer Steve McCurry will present a new exhibition titled ‘Spirituality’ at the Accademia di Belle Arti Pietro Vannucci in Perugia. Running from October 30, 2026, to January 10, 2027, the exhibition features thirty previously unpublished photographs exploring the Umbria region.

The project resulted from a research workshop led by McCurry alongside seven professionals and two students from the Academy. The works focus on five specific areas: Valnerina, Orvietano, North East Umbria, Trasimeno, and the Middle Tiber Valley. The collection aims to highlight the cultural and human heritage of less-visited internal areas, capturing a sense of spirituality found in landscapes and daily human gestures.

In addition to the new works, the Academy's Pinacoteca will display a selection of images from McCurry’s previous visits to Umbria. The exhibition, under the creative direction of McCurry and curated by Paul Henry Robb, will officially open on October 29 with the author in attendance. Admission is free from Thursday to Sunday.
