Steve Naumov student dormitory opens in Skopje

The reconstructed ‘Steve Naumov’ student dormitory in Skopje has officially opened, providing modern accommodation for approximately 1,150 students. Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski attended the opening, stating that the facility offers European-standard living and studying conditions that are among the best in the region.

Mickoski noted that the government is working to address numerous inherited infrastructure issues through prioritized projects. He expressed gratitude to partners including the European Union and the German Development Bank (KfW) for their support. The Prime Minister also announced that a second dormitory, ‘Kuzman Josifovski-Pitu’, is expected to open within the next month, which would bring the total number of new student beds to over 1,500.

Regarding broader educational infrastructure, Mickoski reported that the government has invested more than 90 million euros over the past 26-27 months. Half of this amount was directed by the Ministry of Education and Science toward student dormitories, with an additional 45 million euros allocated through decentralization programs for the reconstruction of primary and secondary schools.
