Steve Sarkisian warns of communication disruptions during Trump's game attendance

Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian has noted that the presence of a sitting president at football games can cause sudden disruptions to team communications. As President Donald Trump prepares to attend the Texas versus Tennessee game at Neyland Stadium, Sarkisian explained that the Secret Service may cut all stadium communications whenever the president enters, leaves, or moves to a different location within the venue.

Sarkisian, who was an offensive coordinator at Alabama during a 2019 game attended by Trump, emphasized the need for teams to have contingency plans for these unannounced outages. He also referenced claims that communication failures during the College Football Playoff championship game between Indiana and Miami may have impacted the outcome. However, Indiana coach Curt Cignetti has dismissed these claims, and reports suggest any communication issues were limited to only a few plays.
