Steve Scalise urges Republican midterm turnout in Dallas

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise urged Republican voters to turn out for the November 3 midterm elections during the Republican National Convention in Dallas. Scalise stated that the ‘America First’ agenda of President Donald Trump is at stake in the upcoming vote.

Contrasting the current administration with the Trump presidency, Scalise criticized the Biden administration for issues regarding border security, inflation, and energy policy. He also highlighted congressional actions such as preventing a 30% tax hike and cutting $1.7 trillion in federal spending waste, fraud, and abuse.

Scalise further criticized Democratic proposals, specifically mentioning stances on women’s sports, Supreme Court appointments, and voting regulations. He claimed that Democrats have voted to allow noncitizens to vote in federal elections, a reference to the debate surrounding the SAVE America Act.
