Steve Witkoff earned $107M from Trump-linked crypto firm
Financial disclosures reveal that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff earned nearly $107 million last year from a holding company affiliated with World Liberty Financial. The cryptocurrency firm was co-founded by Witkoff and President Donald Trump, alongside members of their respective families.
Witkoff, who serves as a negotiator for peace deals in the Middle East and Ukraine, was previously listed as a ‘co-founder emeritus’ on the firm’s website. The company, which is operated by the sons of both Trump and Witkoff, recently received preliminary approval from the Trump administration to operate as a bank.
While critics have raised concerns regarding potential conflicts of interest, a White House spokesperson stated that Witkoff has “fully divested from World Liberty Financial” and that his previous commercial activities are unrelated to his diplomatic efforts. Disclosures also indicate that President Trump earned $526 million from the sale of cryptocurrency tokens through the firm and an additional $65 million from equity sales in the holding company.
