Steven Borden faces scrutiny following AEW injury
Professional wrestler Steven Borden, son of Sting, has faced scrutiny following an injury sustained during a tag team match at AEW All Out. While some critics, including WWE veteran Eric Bischoff, have questioned Borden's readiness and experience for television competition, AEW wrestler QT Marshall defended him, noting that Borden has been training at the NJPW Dojo since 2024 and has worked independent and dark matches.
Dutch Mantell speculated that Borden may be taking high-risk maneuvers to prove he can succeed on his own merits rather than relying on his family name. Mantell expressed respect for the drive but cautioned that a young wrestler needs guidance to manage the dangers of ambitious moves.
AEW President Tony Khan provided a positive health update following the incident, stating that Borden was conscious and responsive at the hospital. Khan confirmed that medical tests and scans were positive, allowing Borden to return home shortly after the event.
