Steven Borden recovers after head injury at AEW All Out
Steven Borden sustained a legitimate head injury during a tag team match at the AEW All Out pay-per-view on September 26, 2026. The incident occurred at the NOW Arena when Borden and Kevin Knight collided mid-air while leaping from opposite turnbuckles. The impact caused Borden to strike the back of his head on the mat, resulting in a loss of consciousness and an immediate match stoppage by referee Bryce Remsburg and physician Dr. Michael Sampson.
Following the incident, Borden was transported via ambulance to a local medical center. AEW President Tony Khan later provided an update, stating that Borden was conscious, responsive, and had undergone a CT scan. Khan confirmed that the scan results were favorable and expressed hope that Borden would be able to fly home to his family shortly.
In the aftermath, wrestler Ricochet addressed the incident, stating that “no one is at fault” and noting that injuries are an inherent risk in professional wrestling regardless of rehearsal frequency. Meanwhile, Tony Khan addressed reports regarding the commercial success of All Out, noting that the event sold out and performed well despite competition from WWE's Worlds Collide event.
