Steven Cheung refuses bankruptcy and social aid to repay debts

Hong Kong entertainer Steven Cheung has addressed his ongoing financial struggles, explaining his decision to refuse both bankruptcy and government social security assistance. Cheung stated that he views bankruptcy as an immoral way to evade responsibility toward his creditors. Instead, he has committed to using his earnings to make incremental payments to those he owes.

Cheung also clarified his motivations for remaining in the entertainment industry. He denied attempts to recapture the fame of his former musical group, asserting that his current work is strictly a means to provide for his family and manage his debts. He noted that while social security could cover basic household expenses, it would not provide the surplus necessary to repay his debts.
