Steven Fenwick inquest to investigate 2019 disappearance

A coronial inquest will be held in November at the Newcastle Coroners Court to investigate the disappearance and suspected murder of Steven Fenwick. The one-week inquiry will seek to determine if Mr. Fenwick is deceased and, if so, establish the date, location, cause, and manner of his death.

Mr. Fenwick, 33, vanished in January 2019 in Stockton. His last confirmed sighting was at approximately 1:00 p.m. on January 30, 2019, when he disembarked a bus at Fern Bay. Prior to his disappearance, CCTV footage showed him collecting winnings from poker machines at Wests Nelson Bay.

Despite extensive land and sea searches in areas including Stockton Beach, sand dunes, and bushland near Corroba Oval, as well as a $500,000 reward for information, his body has not been located. Detectives from Strike Force Kummari suspect foul play in his disappearance.
