Steven Gerrard criticizes Manchester United players amid club crisis

Steven Gerrard has criticized several Manchester United players, suggesting they are no longer at the level required for the club. His comments come as Manchester United faces a significant sporting crisis, including an eight-match winless streak across all competitions and a recent 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth.

Gerrard praised Bruno Fernandes for his talent but criticized his conduct as captain following recent statements made after a match against Como. He also noted that while Harry Maguire had a good career and Luke Shaw was once elite, neither are currently Manchester United caliber players and should have departed sooner. Additionally, Gerrard commented on Lisandro Martinez, suggesting the player appeared focused on the World Cup last year and has since displayed ego-centric behavior regarding the club's transfer activity.

Despite the poor form, which has left the team 16th in the Premier League, the club's management appears to be maintaining support for manager Michael Carrick ahead of their upcoming match against Chelsea.
