Director Steven Spielberg participated in a mock courtroom trial on ‘Judge Judy’ to celebrate his mother Leah Adler’s 90th birthday. The appearance, which is being revisited in a new CBS special titled ‘Judge Judy: Unfiltered, Unforgettable’, involved Spielberg and his sister Annie acting as plaintiffs against their sisters, Nancy and Sue.

The staged dispute centered on unpaid expenses related to the birthday celebration, including the purchase of party supplies such as Groucho Marx novelty glasses. During the proceedings, Spielberg announced that he and Annie would withdraw their mock lawsuit against their siblings. The event was prompted by Spielberg contacting Judith Sheindlin directly to fulfill his mother’s wish to meet the television judge.
