Steven Spielberg unveils new UFO film “Disclosure Day”

Steven Spielberg, soon to turn 80, released his 36th feature, “Disclosure Day” (original title “El día de la revelación”), a science‑fiction drama about extraterrestrial contact. The film draws on the recent declassification by the U.S. Department of Defense of reports on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) and revisits themes from Spielberg’s earlier alien movies such as Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. The cast includes Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo and Tommy Martinez.

The movie, debuting on Friday, blends conspiracy‑theory elements—black‑suit “men in black,” government secrecy—and Spielberg’s characteristic religious motifs. It marks another milestone for the celebrated director, who has earned three Oscars, multiple Golden Globes and Emmys over a career spanning more than six decades.
