Steven Spielberg’s A.I. Artificial Intelligence marks 25th anniversary

The science fiction film ‘A.I. Artificial Intelligence’, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on a concept by Stanley Kubrick, marks its 25th anniversary. The film follows the odyssey of a robotic boy programmed with the capacity to love.

Set in a future America divided between organic humans and mechanical beings known as ‘mechas’, the film explores themes of artificial intelligence that remain highly relevant. Notably, the film includes depictions of the World Trade Center towers, a creative choice maintained by Spielberg in subsequent releases.
