Steven Wilson announces ninth studio album Requiem For A Village

Musician Steven Wilson has announced his ninth studio album, titled ‘Requiem For A Village’, which is scheduled for release on November 6, 2026, through Fiction Records and Virgin Music Group. The title track is currently available on all digital platforms.

Departing from the space-themed exploration of his previous album, ‘The Overview’, this new project focuses on an unknown, timeless village located within the British Isles. Wilson utilized an unconventional recording approach, intentionally avoiding AI and corrective studio technologies in favor of organic instrumentation and embracing studio imperfections.

The album features collaborations with multi-instrumentalist Randy McStine, drummer Russell Holzman, and vocalist Katherine Priddy. The narrative component was written by Andy Partridge of XTC and features narration by British actor David Tennant. The project is described as having a macabre, imaginative atmosphere reminiscent of ‘The Wicker Man’.
