Steven Wilson announces ninth studio album ‘Requiem For A Village’

Musician Steven Wilson has announced his ninth studio album, titled ‘Requiem For A Village’, scheduled for release on November 6. The project moves away from the space themes of his previous work, ‘The Overview’, to focus on a fictional, timeless village in the British Isles.

Wilson utilized an unconventional recording approach, opting for organic instrumentation and embracing studio imperfections rather than using corrective technologies. The album features collaborations with multi-instrumentalist Randy McStine, drummer Russell Holzman, and vocalist Katherine Priddy. The narrative elements include writing by Andy Partridge and spoken word contributions from actor David Tennant.

The album consists of 12 tracks, including ‘Swirl In a Lark’s Eye’, ‘Murmuration’, and ‘The Old God is Buried’. It will be available in various formats, including double vinyl, CD, and CD with Blu-ray.
