Steven Wilson confirms new Storm Corrosion album is in development

British progressive rock musician Steven Wilson has confirmed that work has begun on the second album from Storm Corrosion, his collaborative project with Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt.

In an interview with Anil Prasad of Innerviews, Wilson noted that while the new material is “very different,” it will maintain the recognizable aesthetic established by their 2012 debut. He described the upcoming project as a “massive chunk of music” that is almost entirely played on acoustic instruments.

Wilson also mentioned that the new Storm Corrosion material shares some stylistic similarities with his upcoming solo album, ‘Requiem For A Village,’ particularly in the instinctive and unconventional approach to instrumentation. No release date has been announced.
